At my local Kroger, there’s a tiny little area in the refrigerated section that’s 100% dedicated to vegan products.

You can’t even imagine how happy I was to find Lilly’s hummus in this vegan-friendly section of the supermarket.

Because in all honesty, it’s somewhat difficult to find store-bought hummus that’s actually healthy.

This is where Lilly’s comes in.

Lilly’s has made what I consider to be the healthiest store-bought vegan hummus you can find at your local supermarket.

Today’s review article on Mystic Future is dedicated to Lilly’s, because Lilly’s deserves a bit of appreciation for what they’re doing!

Plus, I feel it’s important for you, the healthy and high-conscious consumer of delicious food products, to know your best options when it comes to eating high-quality hummus.

Let’s get started.

What does Lilly’s vegan hummus actually taste like? (the #1 most important question on people’s minds)

When it comes to vegan foods, most people are obviously concerned about taste.

Cooking vegan food is actually a bit difficult. I imagine producing vegan food in mass quantities is even more difficult!

So I’d like to give big props to Lilly’s here for producing vegan hummus that genuinely tastes great.

This stuff tastes clean, fresh and alive – just as homemade hummus should taste.

I had the opportunity to experiment with Lilly’s Classic Hummus and Lilly’s Roasted Red Pepper Hummus.

As a spicy food fanatic, I personally enjoyed Lilly’s Roasted Red Pepper Hummus most of all.

Don’t worry. Lilly’s Roasted Red Pepper Hummus isn’t all that spicy.

So I almost always add a bit of extra hot sauce to my hummus for an extra kick.

But overall, I’m a big fan of Lilly’s Classic Hummus and Lilly’s Roasted Red Pepper Hummus.

Both varieties taste 100% delicious.

Is Lilly’s hummus actually healthy? (hint: yes!)

You might be surprised to hear that most store-bought hummus isn’t actually all that healthy.

But this is just the plain truth.

With random canola oils and preservatives often found in hummus – I make sure to check my hummus ingredients labels religiously.

Now, here’s my favorite aspect of Lilly’s…

This company is incredibly transparent about their food production process. If you check out Lilly’s ‘About’ page on their website, you’ll discover everything you need to know about why Lilly’s hummus is probably the healthiest vegan hummus in the entire industry.

Here’s a quick summary of what you need to know:

  1. Lilly’s uses organic kettle-cooked chickpeas in their hummus
  2. Lilly’s produces fresh hummus weekly in Portland, Oregon
  3. They slow roast fresh vegetables using 100% renewable hazlenut-shell briquettes
  4. They only use real olive oil, pure organic tahini and similar high-quality ingredients

As mentioned above, Lilly’s is almost certainly going to be the healthiest vegan-friendly hummus option you’ll find in supermarkets.

I know I’ll be buying Lilly’s hummus again and again…

What else is there to know about Lilly’s hummus?

Lilly’s hummus tastes great, it’s healthy, and it’s available in a supermarket near you.

I think that’s about the gist of what you need to know here.

The one caveat I’d add is that Lilly’s is tucked away in a small vegan section of my local Kroger Fresh Fare supermarket here in Dallas, Texas.

So, there’s a chance you’ll have to search for Lilly’s hummus in your local supermarket, or ask a store associate for help, if you can’t find Lilly’s alongside the many other hummus brands.

Either way, Lilly’s hummus is definitely worth seeking out locally.
